burning bush

There are a lot of forest fires in our area, they are not uncommon but this year as dry as it is there are more than usual. The smoke is sometimes very heavy, we hear of forest fires often in the news but not until it comes close to you do you ever pay much attention to the fires, it is a bit of news and that's that. My daughter from Minnesota called and said to keep our smoke up there in Northern Alberta where it belongs.
In Exodus 3 God appears to Moses in a burning bush, it wasn't until God saw that Moses turned aside to see , that God spoke to Moses. I ask myself , how often does God appear to me and I treat it like a bit of news and go on my way? Mayby I will mention it to my wife when I get home and that will be a 5 minute conversation and on with my life.
In verse 3 Moses said, " I will now turn aside and see". There are many things that come to mind, I wont mention but a few,      "I"  often I say, some should, that someone is me, If God appears to me than it is me He is calling my attention to.  The other thing is   "Now" I will now turn aside. I often push it off talk to other people, pray, and  think about it for a while.  We need to act now not later, in Mathew 8;21&22 a disciple said," let me first" Jesus let him know there is no first except Him.
The last thing for now is "see" ask God to open your eyes to see what He wants you to see. If I had my way the only thing I would look at is big trucks and big machinery I love equipment. I need to stop, turn aside and ask God to show me .

He took the fall so I can stand, let us all stand for Jesus.

God bless each of you as you turn aside and seek His path.  Check out Jer. 6:16.

Love you.

long time no see

It has been a long time , I am not a blogger but will try again and  see how it will all come about. I am a truck driver by trade, however , it has been a few years that I have been in a commercial truck, once a trucker always a trucker.  That's what someone told my wife before we got married, I did get off the truck for the most part. We have been married for 40+ years, It is not an occupation, or anything like it that will break up a marriage, it is sin in our lives and  an unwillingness to let Jesus Christ have control of our lives. If I and my wife each draw closer to Christ we will automatically draw closer to one another. The person that needs to change in a marriage is the one you see every morning when you stand at a mirror. So much for that, God bless.
I am still working at the public school as an EA , teachers helper, I do enjoy the work, love the boys and girls and do hope I make a difference in their lives, they definatly are making a difference in my life. I don't know how to spell deffinatly.

God bless and see you some time in the future.

I forgot

Well, I didnt really forget to post a blog in January, its just that the time goes by very fast that the next month just comes along. I dont have a computer at home so its only here at the radio station that I am on my computer. I am also quite clumsy at the keyboard, I did very well in High School typing, the electric typwriters were just coming in, if you made a mistake all you had to do was put in a little paperlike thing and retype the same letter and it would take it off.
Praise the Lord things have changed, Praise the Lord the word of God never changes, Praise the Lord the word of God changes us into a better person. I am very happy that I am have changed from when I first believed, It is growth, all living things need to keep growing. This is important to keep in mind as we relate to others, I have to realize others are not at the same place spiritually as I am some are more mature others are newly born, it is not for me to judge, I am to encourage , I am to be a channel of Gods love and kindness to flow through to those around me no matter who they are.

Since it is almost valentines day, happy Valentines Day to you all and remember that Gods love to you is far greater than we can imagine. This is a good time to remember who your spouse is, who your children are, who your parents are, and who your friends are.  They are very precious gifts from God, celebrate them. Husbands, you are the leader of the home, celebrate your wife, dont evaluate her, there should be no requirements that you have for your wife. It is nice if she does all the things you might want her to do, but they should never be requirements for your love. Ask yourself what requirements did Jesus christ have for you . It is very easy for us men to evaluate our wives and children. What they need is unconditional love, they have infinite value, they are a treasured gift from God.

                         Col. 3:18-21

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands
as it is fit for the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against
                                             them.
Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is
                                            well pleasing unto the Lord.
Fathers, provoke no your children to anger lest they
                                           be discouraged.

May God richly bless you.               Love Mark

Christmas

Every year we hear of what stores allow and dont allow their employees to say at christmas time. We hear of what the Government allows and dosnt allow as a display on their property. If we as believers would have the joy and love in our hearts that Jesus wants us to have  and freely gives us then we need'nt concern ourselves on what others allow or dont allow.  Wish evryone you meet a merry christmas and treat them with love, maby the other way around, treat them with love and kindness with a smile, let them know you appreciate their help, then wish them a Merry Christmas.
If all of us had a christmas message, no matter how big or small, on our front lawn there would not be a need for a display  in a park or courthouse or any other public place, the message would be all over  town, praise God.

May God bless each of you this Christmas season, I love you.

your walk

I just was listening to some songs that reminded me of what God wants from us. The songs talk about  knowing Him more and walking with Him. The way we conduct our daily lives is what speaks loud and clear to our fellow workers, our neighbors, people we pass in stores, motorists on the highway, you get the idea. We need not preach the bible to them in order to  be a good witness for our Lord and Savior.

Micah 6:8  He has showed thee, O man, what is good and what
doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and
to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.

We as believers need to show the world Jesus Christ with our life. I like to say we need to translate the Bible to them in a language they understand. Remember they dont have the Holy Spirit living with them, it is the Holy Spirit dwelling with us that gives us understanding of the word. As you go out today see if you can translate the word of God into a living example of what the word tells you. Ask God to help you, a good  way to start is by being a thanbkful person in all situations.

1 Thess. 5:18  In evrything give thanks for this is the will of God
                                                               in Christ Jesus concerning you.

May God bless you richly in wisdome and understanding.

                                                      Love

My Mother

I often dont know what to say about a person ,with my mother I can say she was a very Godly woman. She was very dedicated to her , first of all Lord, then her husband and family of 15 children. She was commited to loving and serving her family. My early memories of her was that she was a woman with humor, she could always make us laugh, even when she was punishing us.
She always thought of others, in our older years we would often come home with someone we picked up on the highway or some temporarily homeless person. There was always room at the table and she would almost always present them with a practical gift for them. She always kept an assortment of things for all ages and seasons.
When I read prov. 31 I think of her, she worked hard providing for her family, we were, I dont like to say poor, lets say we had very limited money. We all pitched in to help with the work, she canned fruits and vegetables, several hundred jars. We had a big garden and she spent a lot of time there. In the winter she would often be at her sewing machine mending or making christmas gifts.
She would often quote little phrases that  were fitting for the circumstances.  "  What one must do without no use making a fuss about".  "A friend drew a circle and left me out, Love and I with a whit to win drew a bigger circle and took them in". Many more.
Her house was clean, but not a castle,It was always a welcome place for children and  guests, even if the guests were off the highway hitchhikers. Her house was not full of stuff, it was full of love.

Prov. 31:28   Her children arise up, and call her blessed, her husband also
                                                      and he praiseth her.

Encouragement

I was thinking of my father this morning and then my mother, they are both with the Lord now.
I have many fond memories. I was thinking of the time I was with my dad as a little boy, maby 5 years old. We were fixing fence, I loved working with my dad, just to be with him. I pounded a staple in it went in crooked and didnt hold much. I remember he just put in another staple beside mine , " there" he said  that will be just fine. He never criticised, was always encouraging, allowed us to make mistakes, he helped us learn from them.  My father loved being with us as much as we loved being with him.  We probably made work for him go a little slower but I see now fathering is not about getting things done in a hurry, it is about a loving relationship. The fence is long gone but the memories of a dad whoe loved working with his children will live on for ever . He, without knowing, taught manny lessons of our heavenly fathers love for his children.
Fathers out there, especially young fathers, dont get yourself in debt  so much that you loose sight of your real purpose. You are here to glorify your Father which is in heaven, there is no better way than through your family, wife, sons, daughters, working together, learning together, building relationships, spending unhurried time with one another and with your heavenly father.

Remember, you are the best example of God to your children.

                                               Thank you and God bless.

                                               I love you,   Mark,
